PRF Hair Restoration

PRF Hair Restoration

Regrow your hair thicker and stronger with PRF hair treatments

Hair loss affects at least 40% of men and women by the age of 35, and this can be very frustrating. Topical treatments can be irritating leaving hair oily, and oral medications come with a multitude of side effects. Hair restoration with PRF is an effective solution with minimal side effects. PRF contains growth factors and proteins that stimulate and nourish the follicle, and cause dormant follicles to enter the growth phase, leading to stronger, thicker hair growth.

Once you have a consultation with your provider and you decide to move forward with PRF hair restoration, the procedure takes approximately 30 minutes. Blood is drawn and prepared by spinning down all of the red cells. There are no additives or anything to dilute the PRF. The PRF is extracted and injected directly into the scalp at the level of the follicle with a very small needle. After just a few sessions, you will see thicker, stronger hair with less shedding.

Candidates for PRF Hair Restoration

The best candidates for this procedure are those suffering from androgenic alopecia, also known as male/female pattern baldness, and people with more recent hair loss.
Patients who may not be candidates for the procedure include those with the following conditions. For these patients, other treatments may be more effective.

  • Low platelet count
  • Anemia
  • Chronic liver disease
  • Thyroid disease
  • Heavy tobacco smoking
  • Use of blood thinners
Benefits of PRF Therapy
  • Hair becomes thicker and more dense
  • The appearance of balding or thinning is reduced
  • Receding hairline begins to grow back
  • Hair roots become stronger and shedding decreases
Timeline for treatments

Patients will need four sessions, 2-4 weeks apart. After the initial series is completed, you should return for maintenance every six months to ensure continued hair growth.

As a complement to PRF treatments and to maximize hair growth, we also recommend using a topical minoxidil product. These products are available without a prescription.

Before the Procedure
  • Shampoo your hair and do not apply any styling agents. Your scalp should be as clean as possible prior to injecting the scalp.
  • Eat a healthy breakfast and drink plenty of water. Please inform your provider if you have a history of fainting or experiencing dizziness or nausea during blood draws.
After the Procedure
  • Your scalp may feel tingly or sore with some swelling. These side effects are usually mild and can last 1-3 days.
  • Do not apply hair dye, get a perm, or apply any harsh styling chemicals for 48 hours after the procedure. These can cause irritation at the injection sites.
